Clinton County Criminal History is an independent private reference site. It does not hold official files, conduct government record checks, retrieve records, or submit documents for visitors.
Its material identifies the proper custodians, including Clinton County courts, the Sheriff's Office, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, and the New York State Sex Offender Registry. It may also connect a visitor to separately operated research tools. New York Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6, governs agency records, while 9 NYCRR Part 6050 governs DCJS record review. Neither law makes this private site a records custodian.
2. Rules for Using This Site
As a condition of access, you must not:
- Use the service in violation of federal, New York, or local law
- Threaten, harass, stalk, or intimidate another person with information found here
- Rely on site content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
