Choose the Clinton County or New York office based on the record itself:
- Arrest, jail, and sheriff reports: use the Clinton County Sheriff's Office contact or its 2025 FOIL form
- Court files and dispositions: ask Clinton County Court, Plattsburgh City Court, or the Town or Village Court that heard the matter
- Personal New York rap sheets: use DCJS Personal Record Review through IdentoGO; it is subject-only
- Police incident reports: request the record from the police agency that created it, not automatically from the sheriff
- Record sealing: obtain forms and file through the sentencing court under the applicable New York procedure
- Registry information: use the New York State Sex Offender Registry public Subdirectory or its statutory telephone route

For felony court files and certified dispositions, contact Clinton County Court at the Clinton County Government Center, 137 Margaret Street, Plattsburgh, NY 12901, telephone 518-536-3840. Court hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The County Clerk is in the same complex, telephone 518-565-4700, with public hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and no filings after 3:45 p.m. Plattsburgh City Court uses the same street address and can be reached at 518-536-3870 for city misdemeanors, violations, and preliminary felony matters.
